Native IP vs broadcast or borrowed IP
Not every IP that shows a country is really from that country. The key difference is whether the registration, the geolocation and the server's real location all agree.
| Native IP | Broadcast / borrowed IP | |
|---|---|---|
| Registered country | The country where the server runs | Often a different country |
| Announced from | A local network in that country | Announced in one place, registered or labelled as another |
| Geolocation databases | Show the same country as the server | May show different countries in different databases |
| Server's real location | Matches the IP's country | May be far from the country the IP claims |
| Consistency over time | Stable | Can change when databases update |
Why a native IP matters
When an online service sees a connection, it usually looks up the IP's country. A native IP gives a consistent, honest answer: the server is where the IP says it is. That helps in several situations:
- Local platforms and users. Websites and apps for a Japanese or Korean audience are served from a Japanese or Korean IP, which matches what local users and services expect.
- AI APIs. Japan and Korea are supported regions for major AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini, so apps can call them from a native local IP. See VPS for AI apps.
- Gaming. Game servers, relay nodes and region-matched accounts work best with an IP that is really in Japan or Korea. See game server VPS.
- Consistent geolocation. Fewer mismatches between databases means fewer surprises such as the wrong language, currency or region on third-party sites.
A native IP describes where your server really is. It does not guarantee access to any third-party service, and it is not a way around anyone's terms or region rules.
Unlock test: services that work on JUSTG native IPs
In our test, JUSTG native Japanese and Korean IPs unlock ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Netflix and Disney+. Because each IP is genuinely in Japan or Korea, these services treat the server as a Japanese or Korean user. More on the AI VPS and streaming VPS pages.

How to check an IP's country and geolocation
You can check any IP address yourself in a few minutes:
- Run whois. On Linux or macOS, run
whois 203.0.113.10(replace the address with yours). Look at the country field and the network owner. For Japan and Korea the regional registry is APNIC. - Check public geolocation databases. Look the IP up in two or three public IP geolocation databases and compare the countries and cities they report. A native IP shows the same country across them.
- Check the network (ASN). The whois record and most lookup tools show the autonomous system (ASN) announcing the IP. It should be a network operating in that country.
- Allow time for updates. Databases refresh on different schedules, so a newly assigned IP can show old data for a while.
After you order a JUSTG server, you can run these checks on your own IP. If you would like to check before buying, open a ticket to request a test server.

Which native IP option should you choose?
- One app, bot, website or game server: a Tokyo or Seoul cloud VPS with 1 native IPv4 is enough. Plans run from 1 core and 512 MB RAM to 7 cores and 24 GB RAM, with Linux or Windows Server and full root access.
- Many websites or services, each on its own IP: a dedicated server with a native /24 or 256 native IPv4 in Tokyo or Seoul.
- Heavy workloads plus many IPs: the 512 GB RAM dedicated servers, 2x E5-2695v2 in Tokyo or 2x Xeon Gold 6388 in Seoul on the KT network.
Cloud VPS can also move between Tokyo, Seoul and Moscow from the client area once every 30 days. Moving gives you a new IP in the new country and deletes the old VPS.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a native IP?
A native IP is an IP address registered to the country where the server physically runs and geolocated there by public databases. JUSTG Tokyo servers have native Japanese IPs and JUSTG Seoul servers have native Korean IPs.
What is the difference between a native IP and a broadcast IP?
A native IP is registered, announced and geolocated in the same country as the server. A broadcast or borrowed IP is announced in one place but registered or labelled as another country, so databases may disagree about where it is.
How can I check whether an IP is native?
Run whois on the IP and check the country field and network owner, then compare the result in two or three public geolocation databases. A native IP shows the same country everywhere, matching the server's real location.
Do JUSTG Tokyo and Seoul VPS come with a native IP?
Yes. Every JUSTG Tokyo cloud VPS includes 1 native Japanese IPv4 and every Seoul cloud VPS includes 1 native Korean IPv4, plus free IPv6, from $19.99/mo.
Can I get a whole block of native Japanese or Korean IPs from JUSTG?
Yes. JUSTG Tokyo dedicated servers are available with a native /24: 1 + 253 IPv4 on E3-1230v3 for $418/mo, or 253 IPv4 on 2x E5-2695v2 for $999/mo. Seoul dedicated servers are available with 256 native IPv4 for $499/mo or 254 native IPv4 for $1388/mo.
Does a native IP guarantee access to every website or service?
No. A native IP only means the server is really located in Japan or Korea. JUSTG does not guarantee access to any third-party service, and you must follow each service's own terms and region rules.
Which services work with a JUSTG native Japanese or Korean IP?
In JUSTG's October 2026 test, native IPs on Tokyo and Seoul cloud VPS and dedicated servers unlocked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Netflix and Disney+. Third-party services may change their policies; additional IPs can be purchased anytime via the Upgrade options on your service page.
