How to Change Your VPS Location (Tokyo, Seoul, Moscow)

You can move an active JUSTG cloud VPS between Tokyo, Seoul and Moscow yourself from the client area: open the service, choose "Change location" in the "Manage" card, pick the new location, plan and operating system, and pay any price difference. The move installs a fresh VPS with a new IP address, and the old VPS and all its data are deleted, so back up first.

Nothing is copied. As soon as the new VPS is ready, the old VPS and all its data are deleted permanently. Download your files, databases and configuration before you start.

Who can change location

  • Only Active cloud VPS in the relocation regions: Moscow, Tokyo and Seoul.
  • The VPS must have no unpaid invoice. An unpaid invoice on the VPS blocks the change.
  • No relocation already in progress for the same VPS.
  • You can change location once every 30 days per VPS.

How the price difference works

You pay the full price difference: the new plan's price after Discount Center discounts, for the same billing cycle, minus what you pay now. Your next due date stays the same.

  • Moving to a more expensive plan: an invoice is created for the difference. The change starts automatically once it is paid.
  • Same price, or nothing to pay: the change starts right away.
  • Moving to a cheaper plan: there is no refund. From the next due date, the new plan renews at its own price.

Example: you pay $29.99 per month for plan 01 and move to plan 02 at $39.99 per month (no discounts). The invoice is $10.00, and from then on the VPS renews at $39.99 per month on the same due date.

If you change your mind before paying, you can cancel the pending relocation invoice. Nothing is moved until it is paid.

Step 1: Back up your data

Copy everything you need off the server: website files, databases, configuration files and SSH keys. For example, from your own computer:

rsync -avz [email protected]:/var/www/ ./backup-www/
ssh [email protected] "mysqldump --all-databases" > all-databases.sql

Step 2: Open "Change location"

Sign in to the client area, open your VPS from the services list, and on the service details page click "Change location" in the "Manage" card.

Step 3: Choose the new location and plan

Select Tokyo, Seoul or Moscow and the plan you want. Plans are the same in all three locations. Keep the network in mind: only Moscow uses China Telecom CN2 GIA; Tokyo and Seoul use Asia-optimized routes.

Step 4: Choose the operating system

Pick the operating system for the new VPS: Linux or Windows Server. It is a clean installation, so you will set up your software again and restore your backup.

Step 5: Confirm

Check the summary, tick the confirmation box and confirm. If there is a price difference, pay the invoice; the change then starts automatically. If there is nothing to pay, it starts right away.

Step 6: Use your new VPS

The new VPS gets a new IP address and new login details, which are sent by email. Restore your backup, then update anything that points to the old IP: DNS records, firewall allowlists and application settings.

FAQ

Can I keep my IP address?

No. The new VPS always gets a new IP address in the new location.

Do I get money back if I move to a cheaper plan?

No, there is no refund. The cheaper plan applies from your next due date, and it renews at its own price.

The "Change location" option is not available. Why?

Check that the VPS is Active, has no unpaid invoice, has no relocation in progress, and was not relocated in the last 30 days. If it still does not work, open a ticket with the service IP.
